I decided an update is due.

This weekend is Believe for the Jr. Highers!  Thats gonna be fun, and don't even think about TPing my house... there will be payback.

There is going to be regularly scheduled youth on Sunday, so be there.

Vertical Journey is traveling to Faith Church on Cox Rd. between the Hopewell schools on Sunday the 26th.  Its gonna be a great night during which we are going to meet some new people, and make some new friends.

Hey, this next paragraph is the inspirational stuff.

     Sin is a part of life as a human.  We all falter, we all fail, no one is worthy of the kingdom of heaven without a little bit of help.  Christ is that help, he stretched out his arms to accept you and let you into that kingdom.  But most of you know that and are Christians, so what is the point.
     The point is that we as American Christians are part of a confused and misguided church.  We live in a society that tells us the feel good is the most important thing.  That you only have to do what you have to do to make yourself feel important, "happy", good, or whatever else, and the American church has become perverted by this.  We try to direct everything to us.  We make sure that the worship is appeasing to us, or we leave the church for somewhere that it is, we make sure the people around us are who we want to hang out with, or we leave, and find somewhere where they are.  We mold Christ to make Him what we want Him to be.  We use Christianity as a self-help tool.  We come to church to find a way to fix our problems, our illnesses, our addictions.  We try to make our righteousness our escape from problems, when really, our righteousness is Christ, and when we put Christ as our center, our focus, our everything, our Savior, the other things, your problems, your concerns, your addictions, everything, falls to the side because of the grace of God.  Follow Christ, I mean really follow Him, not the religion, but the man, the God, your God.

Ok, sorry there haven't been any updates, not too much to say really.  Maybe I'll start putting some inspirational stuff on here every now and then so people will read it.

Next Sunday, no Youth, find a sweet Super Bowl party and watch the commercials, I mean the game.

Anyone interested in joining the Vertical Journey Praise Band, there will be another meeting Feb. 11 at 5:15 pm, in the Youth Room.  Be there if you want to praise God with us.

Tim spoke tonight about his trip to India, it was pretty sweet.  Cool photos I might add.

VJ Band will be playing at Crestview Church on Rt. 42 this Wednesday.  If anyone wants to join us, it will be at 6:30.  If you want directions, give me, Will Ryan, a ring.

I don't know the exact date, but later in Feb. Vertical Journey will be going to Faith for a night to hang out with their youth group.  VJ Band will be playing there, and its gonna be a lot of worship, and a lot of fun.  Keep a heads up for when that will be.

So I said there wasn't much to say, and look what I wrote, oh well.  Leave some sweet comments if you read this, at least i'll know someone saw this.

     So there is going to be a party at the church Saturday night, that would be New Years' Eve, come out and have some fun.  Vertical Journey Band will be playing at Midnight to bring in the new year.

     VJ band will be playing this Sunday morning for the 10:45 service too.  It is the only service at that time, no 11:00 this weekend, so come and support the band.

     There will be no youth on sunday, it's new years' day, so have fun with your family, and watch some football!
